We spent the day driving through Death Valley National Park, stopping to see interesting spots along the way. We started our park tour at the south entrance just outside of Shoshone, CA. At Badwater Basin, the lowest point at 282 feet below sea level, it was only 102 degrees just after noon. It probably got a bit hotter after that. We experienced a dramatic temperature difference in the mountains on our way out of the park. The mountain temperature was 77 degrees and felt good after feeling the desert heat. We've wanted to see Death Valley NP for some time and can now say , we have been there and survived.
