These are just a sample of the photos we took along our scenic loop drive today in south-central New Mexico. The trip started in Alamogordo, heading north on Hwy 70 to Tularosa, then Hwy 54 to Carrizozo, Hwy 380 to Capitan, Hwy 48 to Ruidoso, Hwy 70 & Hwy 244 to Cloudcroft, Hwy 82 & Hwy 70 back to our start point. The drive around this loop was approximately 185 miles, and the scenery was amazing. The highest elevation point we reached on the drive was just over 9,000 feet. The snow covered mountain peak elevation in the photo is just over 12,000 feet.
