Space A Flying VIP Style

C-37 Gulfstream V

The C-37 is a twin-engine, turbofan aircraft acquired to fill the worldwide special air missions for high-ranking government and Defense Department officials and the occasional space A traveler. We rode this plane from Andrews AFB, MD to Scott AFB, IL. We welcomed the VIP treatment on our way back to Arkansas. Cudos to the crew and staff for making it such a pleasant trip.

Panoramic Highway, CA

After departing Muir Woods N.M., we took a drive on the Panoramic Highway. We stopped at Muir Beach, Muir Beach Overlook, and several more spots to sightsee and take photos.

Muir Woods National Monument, CA

On 15 October we journeyed to Muir Woods National Monument, located approximately 11 miles north of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. The temperature on the coast was cool but our 3 mile hike through the redwoods was very relaxing and enjoyable. As we drove over the hills to the coast the temperature dropped from 80's to 60's. Always keep a jacket handy.

Point Reyes National Seashore, CA

On 10 October we visited Point Reyes National Seashore, CA, located on the coast north of San Francisco. Upon arrival the weather was partly cloudy with temperatures in the low 60's and perfect conditions for photography. An hour later the clouds and fog from the Pacific rolled in and covered the point. We were able to get some great pictures before the point was shrouded in white.
The lighthouse was built in 1870 and still houses the original globe, which weighs 6,000 pounds.

Redwood National Park, CA

We headed south along the California coast and drove through the Redwood National Park. There were alot of tall Redwoods but also many giant Sequoias mixed in. We took a mile long hike on the Lady Bird Johnson trail among the trees and beautiful ferns. We put ourselves in most of the pictures so you can get an idea of how tall and big these massive trees are. See if you can pick us out, we are the really little people at the base of the trees.

Pacific Coastal Highway, CA

After a day of hiking and sightseeing, we decided to take the scenic drive down the Pacific Coastal Highway. Along the way we stopped at several spots to take photos, watch the waves and then gazed at the sunset over the Pacific Ocean.
