Titan II Missile National Historic Landmark, AZ

We took a tour through the last remaining Titan II missile silo. We got to see the missile and the control room and go through the seqences of firing the missile. This is the largest intercontinental ballistic missile ever built by the U.S. During the cold war there were 54 of these missile silos located in Arizona, Arkansas and Kansas. This is the only one that is intact and it is disarmed. This one was preserved for the museum. The others were filled in with dirt. This is located about 20 miles south of Tucson, AZ.
