Fort Davis National Historic Site, TX

Fort Davis is just across the mountains from the state park where we are staying. This fort was in use until 1891 built originally to protect people passing through due to the gold rush. The next post shows the hike we had to take to get there from here. Fort Davis is the highest elevation town in the state of Texas at 5050 feet.
